What is the difference between "liability only" coverage and "full coverage"?
Similar to Automobile Coverage, "liability only" coverage ONLY provides protection for you if you cause damage to someone else's property or if you are accused of injuring another person due to your negligence. This coverage includes legal defense and the cost of any sums you become legally obligated to pay. There is no coverage for YOUR personal property in a Liability Only Policy.
For example, if you accidently start a fire in your apartment, you may be responsible to your landlord or your landlord's insurance company for the cost to repair/rebuild the apartment complex.
"Full Coverage" as it is often referred, provides liability coverage as well as coverage for your personal property.
